- University-level qualification in business administration or in a related field (e.g. management, audit, internal controls and risk management), equivalent education, or relevant professional experience.
- Experience in audit management, preferably in an international organization or a national public administration (civil or military).
- Experience in leading a team of auditors to successfully and consistently achieve goals.
- Management experience at national or international level.
- Audit related qualifications from nationally or internationally accredited professional auditing institutions.
- Experience as Audit Executive (Head of Internal Audit) or Inspector General or as head of a comparable oversight function.
- Excellent command of audit standards and methodology gained preferably at international level.
- NATO's two official languages are English and French. Both languages are important in the work of this post, therefore fluency in both languages is essential.

Moreover, due to the broad interest in NSPA and the large number of potential candidates, telephone or email enquiries cannot be dealt with.
The Agency would appreciate it if addressee countries could provide their support by submitting candidates whose security clearance can be effected (or confirmed) rapidly and who could report for duty as soon as possible after selection.
- Basic monthly salary: EUR 10 872.71, tax free.
- This post will become vacant as of 01 September 2026.
- (Definite Tenure) Initial duration of the assignment will be for 3 years. The contract may be renewed, but will not exceed the definite tenure of 9 years.
