General Qualifications
  • Master’s level qualification in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum six years’ experience in the field of system acquisition of C4ISR systems or platforms in a sizeable civilian or military organization.
  • Minimum six years’ experience in engineering and technical management of C4ISR systems development in a senior management role.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working in a NATO environment with key NATO stakeholders such as Strategic Commands, Operational Commands, Agencies and International Staff.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working as an engineer with a direct responsibility to develop a significant piece of hardware or software.
  • Thorough knowledge in C4ISR Systems Engineering with in-depth background in engineering management.
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methodologies demonstrated through both academic qualifications and hands-on experience. Proven track record of successfully leading complex engineering projects.
  • Ability to develop resourceful and effective solutions to problems (including personnel), focus on team performance goals and track metrics to measure performance improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in creating and developing diverse, inclusive and high performing teams through the application of inclusive leadership principles and practice.
  • Sound digital literacy with experience in using office automation systems and software applications, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports and prepare and deliver technical and management presentations.
  • Ability to present persuasively and negotiate effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to cooperate with international military and civilian staff at various levels of seniority.
Specific Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Modular Open Systems principles and their application.
  • Professional certifications in Systems Engineering and project management at practitioner level. 
 
LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS
  • NATO's official languages are English and French. The work of this post requires fluency in English, while working knowledge of French is desirable.

  • Basic monthly salary: EUR 10 872, 71 tax free.
