General Qualifications
 
  •  University degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  •  Experience in engineering/ management procedures with emphasis on technical requirements including product/service costing and budgetary aspects.
  • Practical experience in technical and contractual requirements for the management of specialised projects.
  • Knowledge of project management, engineering and logistic support.
  • Experience in complex systems and services.
  • Ability to understand and quickly solve technical problems.
  • Knowledge of logistic and operations support processes.
  • Knowledge of QA standards and policies.
  • Sound digital literacy with experience in using office automation systems and software applications, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Specific Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, industrial or product engineering for defence.
  • Thorough experience in the acquisition of Small Arms, Light and Support Weapons and related products along the various market segments (product design, classes of SALW weapons, applications, manufacturing techniques, market geographical distribution, marker size and structure, opportunities).
  • Thorough knowledge in design and performance relationship of weapons, calibres and ammunition including accessories, to NATO STANAG for Rails, Suppressors, Testing to NATO/D14 Handbook and AEP 4785.
  • Knowledge of NATO D7 Future Infantry Small Arms and experience in latest developments in weapon and ammunition technology, manufacturing and materials
  • Technical training and experience in complex systems engineering and management of products/services.
  • A recognised project management certification [e.g. PRINCE 2™ Practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP)].
  • Technical experience in soldier equipment or acquisition of small arms and light weapons.
LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS
  • NATO's two official languages are English and French. The work of this post is mainly conducted in English, therefore fluency in that language is essential and working knowledge of French is desirable
